Custom Headset & Earbud Adapters · Made in the USA

You Bought the Best Headset. Now Make It Fit.

You spent hundreds — maybe thousands — on a Bose, Clarity Aloft or CEP headset, and it shipped with a generic tip that twists, expands and aches after an hour, or backs out right when the tower keys up. You’re flying a multi-million-dollar aircraft on a ten-cent earpiece. Big Ear hand-builds a custom adapter, molded to your own ears, that snaps onto the headset you already own — so it seals perfectly, sounds clearer, and disappears for the whole flight. One adapter. Built in the USA. The headset you thought you bought.

Custom Headset & Earbud Adapters

The best fix for a headset that won’t fit isn’t a new headset — it’s a custom adapter.

Premium headsets ship with one-size-fits-nobody foam or silicone tips, made to be cheap, not to fit you. So they pinch, back out and leak sound, turning a great headset into an all-day annoyance. Pilots, controllers and operators get handed a two-cent tip on equipment their safety depends on — then told to just deal with it.

A custom adapter ends it. We take impressions of your own ears and hand-craft an adapter that clicks onto your existing earpiece, with a sound bore aimed straight at your eardrum — for a flawless seal, clearer communication, lower fatigue and real noise reduction. It works with the gear you already own: Bose ProFlight, Clarity Aloft, CEP, UFQ, Quiet Technologies Halo and Apple AirPods Pro. AirPod and earbud adaptors are $175.95; aviation headset adaptors are $189, hand-built in the USA and backed by a 90-day fit warranty.

Why Custom

Five Reasons Pilots
Go Custom

The tip in the box was designed to ship cheap, not to fit your ear. A custom adapter fixes every problem it creates — here’s why pilots and operators never go back.

01

Fits Your Gear

Molded to your ears and built for your exact headset — Bose, Clarity Aloft, CEP, UFQ, Halo or AirPods Pro. Keep the equipment you love; lose the tip you hate.

02

No More Foam Fight

No rolling, squeezing or re-seating mid-flight. It clicks in once and stays put — comfortable from taxi to touchdown.

03

Clearer Comms

A sound bore aimed straight at your eardrum sharpens every transmission, so you catch the clearance the first time, not the third.

04

Quieter & Safer

A true custom seal cuts cockpit and cabin noise, lowering fatigue on long legs and protecting your hearing flight after flight.

05

Built to Last

Handmade from medical-grade silicone, one adapter outlives years of disposable tips — and a future headset can often reuse your impressions.

Adapter
FAQ

Everything pilots, controllers and operators ask before making the headset they already own custom.

What is a custom headset adapter?

A custom headset adapter is a hand-molded earpiece, made from impressions of your own ears, that snaps onto your existing headset or earbuds in place of the generic foam or silicone tip. It delivers a perfect seal, clearer audio and real noise reduction — without buying a new headset. Big Ear adapters fit Bose ProFlight, Clarity Aloft, CEP, UFQ, Halo and Apple AirPods Pro. AirPod and earbud adaptors are $175.95; aviation headset adaptors are $189.

Which headsets do you make adapters for?

We build custom adapters for the most popular in-ear aviation headsets — Bose ProFlight Series 1 and 2, Clarity Aloft, CEP, UFQ ANR L2/L1 and Quiet Technologies Halo — plus Apple AirPods Pro and Bluetooth earbuds. Our best-seller is the Bose ProFlight Series 2 adapter.

Why are the stock tips so uncomfortable?

Manufacturers ship one-size-fits-all foam or silicone tips designed to be inexpensive, not to fit your ear. They expand, pinch and back out, leaking sound and causing fatigue. A custom adapter, molded to your ear, fixes the fit problem the manufacturer left for you to solve.

Do adapters improve communication and safety?

Yes. A custom adapter seals fully and aims the sound bore straight at your eardrum, so transmissions are clearer and you can run a lower volume — which reduces listening fatigue and protects your hearing on long flights. Clearer comms mean catching a clearance the first time.

How do I get ear impressions made?

Two easy ways: visit one of our 50+ providers for a quick ear impression, or order our mail-in Home Impression Kit and do it yourself. Send the impressions to our lab and we hand-craft your adapters.

How long does it take, and how much?

AirPod and earbud adaptors are $175.95 and aviation headset adaptors are $189 (the Pilot Headset Adapter is $98.95; the Bluetooth Receiver Adapter is $79). After we receive your impressions, hand-crafting typically takes about 35–40 business days, and we send a tracking number when your adapters ship.

Will the adapter still work if I upgrade my headset later?

Often, yes. Because the adapter is molded to your ears, we can frequently rebuild or refit it for a new headset using your existing impressions — so your investment carries forward.

Do AirPods Pro really need custom adapters?

If your AirPods Pro slip, fall out during activity or never quite seal, custom adapters lock them into an all-day fit and improve isolation — turning great earbuds into ones that actually stay put.

What warranty comes with Big Ear adapters?

Every adapter carries a 90-day fit warranty plus our repair program. If the fit isn’t right we make it right, and we repair your Big Ears to keep them serving you for years.
